In order to experience good health to the maximum, the body must be in proper alignment. Our operating system is a network of nerves that control everything that we do. A group of nerves located in the lumbar region are responsible for bowel and urinary control, and sexual function. If anything upsets the lumbar nerves, […]
A study in SPINE Journal revealed that health care expenditures for back pain sufferers were a staggering $90.7 billion in 1998 and that prescription drugs accounted for more than 13% of that figure. It is now an epidemic but has never been the answer to back pain. Considering that muscle relaxants are associated with slower recovery, and that steroid injections offer minimal relief, one has to ask why drug use costs continue to climb? Even care by physical therapists has been shown to prolong low back pain.
On the other hand, Chiropractors have been proven to help relieve back pain and the patients are relieved when they find a good one who helps them. You, too, can find relief for your back pain. Call today for an appointment 3340514-7600.
A chronic pain study at the University of Washington School of Medicine recently compared which treatments were most effective at reducing pain for neuromuscular diseases and found that chiropractic scored the highest pain relief rating (7.33 out of 10), scoring higher than the relief provided by either nerve blocks (6.75) or opioid analgesics (6.37).
British Medical Research Council published 2 papers in the British Medical Journal demonstrating both the efficacy and cost-effectiveness of chiropractic compared with medical management. These two papers found:
• Manipulation, with or without exercise, improved symptoms more than medical care did after both 3 and 12 months
• The authors concluded: “We believe that this is the first study of physical therapy for low back pain to show convincingly that both manipulation alone and manipulation followed by exercise provide cost effective additions to care in general practice.”
The scientific review published in 2010 titled Effectiveness of Manual Therapies:
The UK Evidence Report summarized the scientifi c evidence on the eff ectiveness of joint manipulation and mobilization for musculoskeletal and non-musculoskeletal conditions. The authors reported that, according to current standards of scientific evidence, spinal manipulation/mobilization is effective in adults for acute, subacute, and chronic low back pain, migraine and cervicogenic headaches, cervicogenic dizziness, acute/subacute neck pain, and several extremity joint conditions. These researchers also supported the safety and appropriateness of spinal manipulation/mobilization for all of the conditions noted (Bronfort et al., 2010). In an accompanying commentary, Scott Haldeman, D.C., M.D., Ph.D., an internationally-recognized spine care specialist and researcher, concluded that the scientifi c community now recognizes that manipulation is of value for the vast majority of patients who seek chiropractic care (Haldeman & Underwood, 2010).

When I was younger, I suffered a lot from migraines. It was so bad one day that I felt as if someone had hit me in the back of the head with a 2×4 and knocked me out. You have to understand, my little girls were 6 months and 1 1/2. I was out from 9 in the morning til 10 that night. When I came to, one of the first questions on my mind, is what time is it?
My little girl couldn’t answer that question and I couldn’t understand why is it dark out until I looked at the clock. Then I understood. The next question was where is the baby. My oldest replied that she is sleeping on the living room floor. I get up to see what has been going on since I have been out.
In the living room, in a scatter of toys, lie the baby sound asleep with a bottle and about three messy diapers. I asked my oldest how? She explained that she has been looking after her sister since I was asleep. She showed me the kitchen where the refrigerator door is open, milk spilled all over the floor, along with other food items. I asked her what she ate, and she showed me the cereal eaten, evidence also all over the floor. She also said she ate tomatoes but her sister didn’t.
As I listened to her tell me about her day with her sister, I couldn’t have been more proud of her than at that moment. I was also determined that this migraine problem needs to be fixed so that this doesn’t happen again.
After the flurry of medical professionals, I went to see a Chiropractor who showed on x-ray why I was having the migraines. He fixed that and a whole list of [I thought this was what old age felt like]at the age of 25. I have not suffered from migraines but do know the signs of when one is coming on and go to a Chiropractor immediately.
I was so impressed with what Chiropractic did for me, I became one. Come see for yourself what Chiropractic can do for you.
These chronic migraines are not “pop 2 aspirin and call me in the morning” headaches…… Chronic Migraines That’s me, that’s what I suffer with. Winter has been unkind to me, especially January through March, where very few days did I escape not having a migraine headache. The pulsating, throbbing head and face agony […]
When I grew up on the East Coast, I had little or no contact with chiropractors. Back then, most people I knew and most medical centers did not regard them as real medical practitioners. Years later, after I came out to the Mid-West, I found a much wider acceptance of chiropractors. Over the past 40 years of living in Minnesota and Wisconsin, I have known many people who have gone to chiropractors and who firmly believe that they were being helped. Most of the people I have known were suffering from back problems. Here is one comment regarding chiropractors from an obviously very satisfied patient:
“I go to a chiropractor irregularly, usually when my neck is bothering me. He uses heat, ultrasound, and massage therapy to undo the tension in my back and neck, caused by two vertebrae in my back that have been out of alignment since I was…
